Awé IDEOLOGY : An inspiring Yes philosophy...
The word 'awé' is a South African, Cape Town based street slang term meaning 'YES' . 'Awé is also short for 'aware', a state of consciousness that is alive vigilant & awakened. Awé sounds like 'away'; and to drumawé means to drum away troubles, sadness, stress & anger; to release and heal. Off course, awé also means to be struck with wonder; to be inspired or impressed with awe. Awé also melts the initial letter a, with the word we. This is symbolic of the individual (a), finding balance through collaboration with others, the collective community, (we), or us, thus awé is a mantra used in drumawé journeys to form a positive attitude toward oneself & others. We use awé to open the pathways to positive learning, to become confident, aware & free. Moreover, awé extends positive thought into positive intention, and invites this intention to translate into positive action throughout the journey. Awè is learning to embrace our power to actualise our fullest potential, to do this, all we need do is believe " Yes Ican" .
